Daughters of Promise: The Complete Biblical Portrait of Woman in Scripture invites readers on a powerful journey through the Bible to uncover God’s design, purpose, and heart toward women throughout Scripture.
In a world shaped by cultural confusion, wounded experiences, and competing voices, many women struggle with questions surrounding identity, value, healing, purpose, and spiritual significance. Through careful biblical research and compassionate insight, Tawain J. Smith explores what Scripture truly reveals about women from Genesis to Revelation.
More than a study of well-known biblical women, this book examines the complete biblical narrative to illuminate themes of dignity, redemption, motherhood, suffering, leadership, restoration, wisdom, and faithfulness. Rooted in exegesis—the careful study of Scripture within its original context—the book thoughtfully weaves together biblical insight, historical understanding, Hebrew and Greek word studies, and spiritual reflection.
Written for women seeking healing, truth, and a deeper understanding of God’s Word, Daughters of Promise offers encouragement for seasons of grief, waiting, restoration, and spiritual growth while challenging readers to move beyond tradition and surface-level faith into a richer understanding of Scripture.
This is more than a book about women in the Bible. It is an invitation to see women through the eyes of God.
About the Author
Tawain J. Smith, also known as Tawain “CC” Pratt, is a Christian author, Bible researcher, and passionate advocate for biblical truth. Through careful biblical study and heartfelt storytelling, she helps readers navigate Scripture with clarity, honesty, and spiritual depth while encouraging them to move beyond wounded experiences, cultural assumptions, and “secondhand truth” into a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
Her academic studies at Long Beach Community College, Victor Valley College, and Southern New Hampshire University helped cultivate her love for writing, research, and biblical analysis. Smith’s work is deeply shaped by personal experiences of loss, healing, redemption, and spiritual restoration. After enduring profound heartbreak, including the loss of a child at the age of sixteen, she began a sincere search for what she describes as “real truth,” ultimately leading her into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a disciplined commitment to studying Scripture through exegesis.
For more than two decades, Smith has devoted herself to the study of biblical commentaries, historical context, Hebrew and Greek word studies, and multiple Bible translations. Her writing reflects a deep desire to illuminate Scripture faithfully while helping readers better understand the heart of God.
She is the author of DAUGHTERS OF PROMISE: The Complete Biblical Portrait of Woman in Scripture as well as the children’s books A to Z Wonders of God: Discovering Who God Is and Speaking Blessings Over a Child’s Life: The B-Attitudes (The Beatitudes).
Smith is a devoted wife and mother of two sons, Solomon P. Winn III and Jaylin P. Winn, whom she considers her greatest blessings. She lives with her husband, Stanton L. Smith Sr., and writes with a special heart for the brokenhearted, spiritually wounded, and those seeking healing, wisdom, and a deeper relationship with God.
