The War of Remnants by The Academy

The testimony is public. The cities are dimming. And the entities who caused the Sundering are eighteen months from finishing what they started three centuries ago.

Six months after the testimony went public, Vaelthar is at war with itself, not with armies, but with infrastructure. The Accord is cutting power to cities that refused compliance, manufacturing failures and blaming the Coalition, and accelerating the siphoning of Remnant energy toward a reserve that is nearly full enough to make them gods again.

Seren and Cairan are building the override network, two hundred and fourteen manual conduit cutoffs across the entire Remnant system, coordinated by maintenance workers, independent operators, and people who chose the truth over the easier path. When the entities trigger the Final Accord, the simultaneous discharge that would darken every city in Vaelthar and make them the only available light, the network fires. Every conduit closes. The draw fails.

The reserve is damaged. The timeline is bought. The war changes shape.

And on a clear morning at the top of the Kael Cliffs, with the northern sea sharp to the horizon and the world curving away in every direction, a cartographer who waited three hundred years and a field agent who has spent eight months finding what matters close the last gap in the map.

The first genuine exchange agreement is signed. The new accord begins with three cities in a river valley and a map that keeps growing, one honest line at a time.
