Gatemaster (The Artificer Book 11) by Marcus Cass

The thirst for knowledge has driven our hero across worlds—and it's nowhere near done with him yet. The Gliders. Those in possession of a forgotten ability, its secrets scattered across legends, prophecies, and taproom rumors. To save his people, the artificer must hunt down every last scrap—and forge one of the greatest artifacts ever made. One that opens gates between worlds. This time, he doesn't just forge the key. He has to become a Gatemaster. Every aspect is to be revisited—but nothing is the same anymore. The path runs through the scorching sands of the Great Desert and the shadow-wrapped fortresses of ancient assassins, bringing about encounters with sea horrors born of myth and Hounds that belong to no world he has ever known. The journey is just beginning. And the gates won't open themselves.
