The Shades of Fate by Stephanie Le Roy

"He was called Grey, who had spent the better part of forever keeping the world from tipping over. His sisters were no help: one kept setting things on fire for attention, while the other communicated mostly in stab wounds.

It was a quiet life, mostly, and he intended to keep it that way.

Until a woman bit a man's thumb off in a rain-soaked alley, and Grey, who had buried gods and outlived empires, found himself inexplicably mesmerized.

Her name was Rhea, a mortal, who shouldn't have mattered.

But she mattered immediately.

What grows between them is a chemistry that the universe was made to prevent...and the universe, as Grey well knows, keeps its accounts.

The Shades of Fate is a story about what the price of love is when love is not allowed.

Now, who, in the end, will be left to pay it? There's just one way to find out..."
