The Edge of Him by Xoxo Gossip Boi

"Love isn't the person who arrives first. It's the person who arrives right."

Luca Haven is an expert at building walls. After surviving a toxic relationship with an ex who used "openness" as a weapon to chip away at his security, Luca has spent the last year treating solitude as both medicine and symptom. Working as a freelance designer in Canberra, he has constructed a quiet, independent life arranged around one strict rule: never let yourself disappear for someone else again.

Then comes the first collision.

At a chaotic Braddon rooftop party, Luca crosses paths with Eli Thorn, a tall, watchful heritage carpenter with a talent for fixing structural damage and an unshakeable focus. The chemistry between them is immediate, raw, and completely mutual. There's only one problem: Eli has been in a committed relationship for eight years. He and his partner, Nathan, are open—but open isn't the same as unpartnered.

Refusing to become the unspoken, convenient secret in someone else's life, Luca draws a hard line in the concrete and demands that Eli figure out what he wants before crossing the threshold.

As a bitter Canberra winter rolls in, Eli and Nathan's relationship begins to crack under the weight of its own long-standing rules. Forced to confront years of silence and outsourced intimacy, Eli must decide whether his history with Nathan is something left to repair—or something they need to stop pretending is repairable.

Set against the rigid geometry of Australia's capital city, The Edge of Him is a deeply mature, atmospheric, and high-stakes contemporary MM slow-burn romance. It is a forensic look at boundaries, honesty, and the raw courage it takes to step out of the wreckage of the past and choose oneself.
