Brewing Storm by Emily Brewster

When a predatory wedding planner's murder threatens to destroy Mac and Travis's upcoming nuptials, former lawyer Mackenzie O'Brien must uncover a systematic fraud conspiracy targeting small-town businesses.

Three weeks before her wedding, Mac thought her biggest challenge would be finalizing seating charts and beer selections for the ceremony at Emerald Isle Brewery. Instead, corporate wedding planner Elena Curtis turns up dead after threatening to steal local vendors' family recipes and destroy Hopefield's authentic wedding traditions through systematic extortion.

Armed with her legal expertise and fiancé Travis Blake's brewing chemistry knowledge, Mac discovers that Elena's "business consultations" were actually industrial espionage designed to franchise rural wedding experiences for corporate profit. But when the investigation reveals that someone used sophisticated biochemical knowledge to poison Elena's chocolate bourbon cake, Mac realizes the killer had both the scientific training to create delayed-action toxins and the desperate motive to protect generations of family traditions.

In small-town Hopefield, North Carolina, wedding planning becomes a matter of economic survival.

With Police Chief Alexa Carlsbad coordinating the investigation and corporate lawyers threatening the entire community, Mac must expose a fraudulent business conspiracy before her friends lose everything they've built. But when the killer is someone she trusts, and Premier Destinations has millions of dollars at stake, solving this murder might cost Mac her wedding—and destroy the authentic community values she's fighting to protect.
