Rodeo Wide Open by Phil Morrison

Mike Cooper is the best-looking rodeo rider in the county — and he knows it. At twenty-seven, he collects hearts the way other men collect belt buckles, right up until a bull named Butterball Diablo lands him in the emergency room. There, somewhere between two cracked ribs, he falls head over boots for the woman stitching up his pride: Dr. Mary Donnelly, an ER physician with a steel gaze, a lethal deadpan, and a total immunity to charming cowboys.

For the first time in his life, his famous grin doesn't work. Worse, the nurse already told her everything. If Mike wants a shot, he'll have to change everything about himself — and he has no idea how. Runaway bulls, kitchen fires, exes appearing at the worst possible moment, an incontinent puppy, and a proposal into a dead microphone: the most catastrophic courtship in Texas history is officially underway.
