TWO YEARS OF SILENCE by Leon Aris

For two years, Sanja lived in silence — not the peaceful kind, but the kind that follows you like a shadow. The kind that fills every room, every breath, every thought. When she finally returns home, the city looks unchanged, yet nothing inside her is the same. What once defined her has shattered. What once threatened her has faded. And what she never dared to face quietly steps into the light.

In the soft morning calm of her childhood home, Sanja begins to breathe again. Her mother's quiet presence, the familiar scent of tea, and the rhythm of ordinary life slowly stitch together the pieces of a life interrupted. But healing is never simple — and the past never disappears without leaving marks.

David, who stood by her even when she couldn't stand by herself, becomes the steady ground beneath her feet. Not a protector. Not a savior. Simply someone who chooses to walk beside her. And somewhere on the edge of the city, Marko — the man who once controlled everything — finally lets go.

As Sanja steps into a new morning, she is no longer a key, a target, or a part of someone else's game. She is simply herself. And for the first time in two years, that is enough.

Set against the haunting beauty of Paris and the dramatic arches of Pont Alexandre III, Two Years of Silence is a literary, psychological novel about survival, truth, and rebirth. It explores the quiet strength that comes after fear, the courage to face what remains, and the love that does not rescue but restores.

This is not a story about returning. It is a story about finding your way back — and realizing that silence can heal as deeply as it once hurt.
