DP-900 Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (The Decision-Making Method)

Think like a data architect before you think like an exam candidate.

DP-900 is fundamentally a classification exam. Success depends on recognizing data types, workloads and Azure services—not memorizing product descriptions.

This guide applies The Decision-Making Method to every objective, helping you identify the decision boundaries between Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and other Azure data services. The book emphasizes classifying data shapes, workload types and service families before selecting the correct Azure solution.

Inside this guide you'll discover:

• Structured, semi-structured and unstructured data

• OLTP versus OLAP

• Azure SQL family

• Azure Storage services

• Azure Cosmos DB

• Analytics workloads

• Synapse Analytics

• Azure Databricks

• Microsoft Fabric

• Power BI

• Decision tables for every major Azure data service

• Full-length practice exam with 100 realistic questions

Whether you're starting a career in Data Engineering, Analytics or Cloud Architecture, this book builds the conceptual foundation expected by Microsoft.

Updated for the latest Microsoft certification objectives, this guide covers the Skills measured as of June 2026 and follows the official exam domains.
