Uncle Wiggily and Baby Bunty by Howard Roger Garis

Uncle Wiggily, a gentle rabbit gentleman grown stiff with age, aches, and sleepy habits, keeps finding his quiet days overturned by Baby Bunty, a tiny rabbit girl whose energy seems endless. After he rescues her from a hollow stump and learns she has been left alone after a fox attacked her parents, Bunty settles into his home and turns every errand into an adventure, from May flower gathering and shoe-buying to picnics, walks, and visits with old friends. She tags him into motion with clothespin skates, a runaway automobile, a penny balloon, a rubber ball, and even a doll on a string, often seeming mischievous until her tricks reveal a deeper purpose: to keep him moving, laughing, and alert. Again and again, Bunty's playful interruptions save Uncle Wiggily from stiffness, naps, forgetfulness, and lurking foxes, while his patient chases and rescues show his kindness and courage. Their affectionate chaos brings warmth, suspense, and gentle humor to the woodland world. This edition has been fully restored with modern typesetting, custom cover design.
