The last run by Norbert Gal

At sixty-eight, Vuk Lambert has everything money can buy: a transport empire, homes across Europe, a yacht in Monaco, and enough influence to make almost any problem disappear. But there is one thing he has spent more than forty years trying to leave behind. His name used to be Vuk Markovic. When a man from his past resurfaces with a dangerous request, Vuk is forced back into the life he thought he had escaped. The job sounds simple: travel to Montenegro, take possession of a set of sensitive documents, and deliver them to Belgium. There is one condition. Vuk must make the journey himself. What begins as a return to the road soon becomes something far more dangerous. Someone knows who Vuk used to be. Someone knows what he is carrying. And someone is watching every move he makes. As a routine coach journey across Europe turns into a deadly game of surveillance, sabotage and deception, Vuk must rely on instincts he has not used in decades. But the closer he gets to Belgium, the harder it becomes to tell whether the real threat is waiting at the end of the road—or has been travelling with him all along. And while the past closes in, Vuk faces another battle he cannot solve with money, power or intimidation: the growing distance between himself and his daughter. A psychological thriller about identity, control, family and the secrets that refuse to stay buried, The Last Run asks one question: How far can a man travel before he finally has to face where he came from?
