Somebody Shot My Horse by Craig Strete

After five hard years of hiding out as a wanted desperado—complete with a bounty on his head, a mean-looking beard, and far too many close calls—Buck Waters decides it's time to retire from the outlaw business, shave his face, and head home to the Kingsilver valley for a quiet life of cattle-rump boredom. But peace is hard to come by when you've got an uneasy gift for trouble. Scarcely has Buck crossed into familiar territory when an unseen bushwhacker plunges him headfirst back into a chaotic world of vengeful enemies, local legends, and fiery frontier brawls. With a trail of colorful scoundrels, bad whiskey, and stubborn locals crossing his path, Buck's quiet homecoming quickly turns into a wild ride where surviving the day is a full-time job. A fast-paced, satirical Western packed with deadpan humor, chaotic shootouts, and unforgettable characters.
