The Room Above the Café (Welcome to Maple Creek - Book 1)

Three turns too many, a dying radio, and a car full of doubts - that is how Nell Ashby arrives in Maple Creek. With a single suitcase, a box of books, and a life she is trying to leave behind, she has rented, sight unseen, the little room above the village café, on the strength of a three-minute phone call and a stranger's promise: 'Just come by, I'm practically always here.' What she finds looks composed by a careful hand - brick facades, maples burning red and gold, woodsmoke rising straight into a windless afternoon. Slowly, between early mornings in the café, the warmth of people who don't ask too many questions, and a man who sees more than she means to show, Nell begins to wonder whether a fresh start might really be possible here. But letting herself belong means facing the very thing she came here to escape. A warm-hearted feel-good novel about new beginnings, second chances, and finding home in the most unexpected place. Book 1 in the 'Welcome to Maple Creek' series.
