The Widowed Bride by Susanne Marie Knight

Time-Travel Regency Romance! Twice widowed Constance has one wish: to be safe; to disappear from the unscrupulous gangsters hunting her. A young boy's 3D printer unexpectedly provides a way out.

NO MORE HUSBANDS... PLEASE!

Culinary chef Constance Atkins married twice and was widowed twice. She has more important things on her mind than thinking about marrying again, especially since husband number two's murderers are now after her. After doing a good deed for her young neighbor, he returns the favor by using the dragon his 3D printer created to grant her wish for safety. Sure, Constance wakes up the next morning safe, but definitely not in her own bed, or apartment, or city, or even century. Stranded in the year 1814, she must use her cooking skills to survive during London's Great Frost Fair--a celebratory event where merchants hawk their wares on the frozen River Thames. She comes across a lost, motherless girl who happens to belong to the impressive Earl of Granville, Damien Delacroix. First he hires her as a cook, then he wants her to be his children's nanny, then he proposes that she become his mistress, and then...

WIFE NEEDED. WHO SHALL HE CHOSE?

Damien Delacroix, the Earl of Granville, has a dilemma. He has been happily widowed for a year, but now realizes his son and his daughter need the steadying influence of a mother. A woman to warm his bed would also be a good idea. While he considers possible candidates for the position as his countess, his daughter Katherine turns up missing at the Great Frost Fair. He finds her being held by an unkempt guttersnipe, and threatens the street urchin with prison, only to become aware that his daughter's so-called abductor is not a man but a woman. Constance turns out to be a very intriguing woman indeed. So much so that Damien can't stop thinking about her. Soon Constance sweeps all other candidates aside, leaving him to desire her... and only her... as the future Countess of Granville.

PRAISE FOR THE WIDOWED BRIDE

* The nineteenth century and the twenty-first century collide! Dragons and 3D printers and frost fairs and fine French cuisine all figure into this imaginative tale of one woman's escape to Regency England. Hiding from mobsters who killed her second husband, Constance Atkins gets introduced to 3D printer technology... and wakes up in the year 1814. She has quite a wild ride of adventure ahead of her, and we enjoyed how this Paris-trained chef adapts to "below stairs" life at the aristocratic Earl of Granville's Southwold estate. Can she discover a way to get back home? Does she even want to return? Find out for yourself in this crackerjack 5 star Regency romance.--Regency Fiction World.

* I first read about Frost Fairs in Ms. Knight's time-travel Regency short story: "Lady Elizabeth's Excellent Adventure." At that time, I was astonished to learn about brave merchants actually setting up shop on the frozen River Thames so when I came across this new Regency by the author, I scooped it up! The details about this Great Frost Fair--London's last one back in 1814--are so vivid. And using a 3D dragon's egg as a time-travel device--priceless! 5 stars and many kudos for this fabulous trip back into time. Enjoy!--D. Gooding Reviews
