Charbel's Guesthouse by Jordan Samuelson

Charbel's Guesthouse

After years of imprisonment in Gaza, where Jamal Al-Saadi was born and raised, is given one impossible chance to escape. Guided through tunnels, safe houses, and hidden networks stretching from Gaza to Egypt and Europe, every step toward freedom carries the risk of betrayal, capture, or death.

When Jamal finally reaches Germany, his future depends on a single asylum interview. As he recounts the journey that brought him there, memories of war, torture, friendship, and loss unfold—revealing not only how he escaped, but what he was forced to leave behind.

Told through alternating perspectives, Charbel's Guesthouse is a powerful novel about survival, exile, and the enduring search for dignity. Set against the backdrop of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the refugee crisis, it explores the resilience of the human spirit and the quiet acts of courage that can change a life forever.

An approximately 65,000-word political novel inspired by real events.
