The Wrong Gift by Colin Devonshire

THE WRONG GIFT

Maya never expected to return to Hua Hin for a funeral.

Half Thai, half English, she has spent most of her life in London. But when her beloved grandmother dies, Maya travels to Thailand to say goodbye to the last person who truly understood her.

Then comes the gift.

Hidden among her grandmother's possessions is an ancient kris—a strange, beautifully crafted blade that Maya is warned never to use and never to give away.

At first, she dismisses the warning as one of her grandmother's old superstitions.

She soon changes her mind.

There is something very wrong about the kris. And Maya discovers that her grandmother was not the only person who knew of its existence. Others have been searching for the blade for years—and they are prepared to kill to get it.

As strange events begin unfolding around Hua Hin, Maya is drawn into a terrifying world of ancient beliefs, hidden secrets and supernatural forces.

The closer she gets to discovering the truth about the kris, the more dangerous her enemies become.

But there is one question Maya cannot escape:

Did her grandmother leave her a precious family heirloom… or the most dangerous gift she could possibly receive?

In Hua Hin, some things are better left buried.

And some gifts should never be accepted.
