NO REASON STILL SCROLLING by Suzaan Sayed

Your phone didn’t buzz. Nothing new arrived. So why did you unlock it anyway? You put your phone down. A few minutes later, your hand reaches for it again. No message. No notification. No reason. And before you realize what happened, you’re already scrolling through the same apps you checked moments ago. NO REASON, STILL SCROLLING explores this automatic habit—the tiny moment when your hand reaches for your phone before your conscious mind has even made a decision. Suzaan Sayed calls it the half second reach. This book explains why repeated checking becomes so automatic, why unpredictable rewards keep pulling you back, why empty moments can feel harder to sit through, and why deleting apps or turning off notifications often doesn’t solve a habit that no longer needs a trigger. You’ll learn to recognize the difference between reaching and choosing, understand why you keep checking even when you expect nothing new, and practice small ways to create more space between the urge and the action. This is not a book about never using your phone again. It’s about using it with more awareness and less automaticity. Because the goal isn’t to stop scrolling perfectly. The goal is to stop realizing, twenty minutes later, that you never chose to start.
