Survival Kit (Restored Classics to Go Edition)

On a storm-lashed Jersey shore, Howard Mooney is broke, bored, and hungry for anything that might change his luck. Then a drenched stranger in a silvery outfit appears at his door with a briefcase full of sealed metal spheres, a demand for help, and the unsettling suggestion that time itself can be navigated like a map. The stranger, Harse, is no ordinary traveler but something far stranger: a refugee from the future carrying a "survival kit" packed with impossible technology and dangerous secrets. Mooney quickly sees profit in the mystery and begins scheming to exploit Harse's futuristic wampum, even as Harse proves capable of making a man vanish with a blue-glowing device. Their uneasy partnership becomes a darkly comic chase through New York and Brooklyn, where attempts to cash in on alien valuables, evade suspicion, and hide in a hotel only lead to more chaos. As Mooney grows greedier and more confident, Harse's desperate mission to reach a specific Nexus Point—and his eerie power to shield himself from photographs, paralyze his companion, and unleash silver, web-like creatures—pushes the story into a tense collision of greed, survival, and deadly future science.
