Unsolicited Advice And Sunday Dinners by Stormy McKnight

Unsolicited Advice and Sunday Dinners is a high-paced, razor-sharp romantic comedy that trades country estates and muddy petticoats for high-end Dallas lounges, bespoke tailoring, and boardroom-level combat.

Lanaiya Washington—sharp, independent, and fiercely protective of her peace—runs The Velvet Ledger, an upscale Uptown lounge that serves as her sanctuary. Noah Washington, her meticulous, operationally lethal husband, treats their marriage and domestic life with the ruthless efficiency of a corporate hostile takeover. Together, they form an impenetrable tactical partnership designed to survive their ultimate adversaries: the family "Tribunal." Led by aunts Ruby and Vivian and uncle Robbie, the Tribunal treats every family milestone, wedding, and Sunday gathering as a joint military operation complete with surplus slide projectors, seating charts, and mandatory culinary audits.

When Cousin Marcus announces a Stonewall, Texas wedding at a "rustic-chic" dairy barn complete with hay bales and square-dancing seminars, Noah immediately begins drafting extraction routes and risk assessments. What follows is a brilliant game of cat-and-mouse between a couple fighting for absolute system isolation and a family determined to audit every last detail of their lives. Brimming with sharp wit, corporate-military jargon used as romantic foreplay, and an unshakeable bond, Unsolicited Advice and Sunday Dinners is a modern, witty, ensemble-driven romance about love, logistics, and locking out the people who love you just a little too much.
