BEFORE WE SAY “I DO” by Elena Whitmore

What if preparing for marriage could be more than planning a wedding? Engagement is an exciting season, but it is also a precious opportunity to prepare for the life that comes after the celebration. Before the vows are spoken and the wedding day becomes a memory, couples have the chance to strengthen their faith, deepen their connection, and build a foundation for a lasting marriage. Before We Say “I Do” is a 60-day Christian devotional created for engaged couples who want to prepare their hearts and relationship for a strong, God-centered marriage. Through sixty thoughtful days of Scripture, reflection, conversation, and prayer, couples are invited to explore the foundations that can shape a healthy marriage—including: * Putting Christ at the center of your relationship * Understanding love beyond feelings * Building trust and practicing faithfulness * Communicating with honesty and grace * Handling disagreements and learning to forgive * Discussing finances, responsibilities, and future goals * Understanding family relationships and healthy boundaries * Growing in emotional connection * Supporting each other’s dreams and spiritual growth * Developing a shared vision for your home and future * Preparing your hearts for the promises of marriage Each devotional gives you space to pause, reflect, talk, and pray together, turning important marriage conversations into opportunities for deeper understanding and spiritual growth. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you say, “I do.” But you can choose to prepare intentionally. Because the wedding is one day. Marriage is a lifetime. Let these sixty days help you move beyond preparing for a beautiful wedding and begin preparing for a meaningful, Christ-centered life together. Before you say “I do,” take the time to build what you hope will last forever.
