Secret of the Killer Mine by Adrian Cross

A dead man.
An abandoned mine.
A town built on secrets.

When Wilhemina Star and Gianna Castle travel to Lavalleja, they expect another mystery.

They find a murder.

Deep inside an abandoned mine lies the body of a man no one seems eager to talk about. The police have questions. The town has rumors. And somewhere beneath the silence, someone is hiding the truth.

Wilhemina sees patterns others miss. Gianna remembers every detail that does not fit. Together, they begin pulling at the loose threads of the case—until the investigation leads them into tunnels where no one should be, old grudges no one wants uncovered, and a secret powerful enough to kill for.

The deeper they go, the clearer one thing becomes:

The dead man was not the end of the story.

He was the warning.

And now someone knows the Investigators are getting too close.

Secret of the Killer Mine launches The Investigators, a dark, fast-paced mystery series of murder, hidden clues, dangerous places, and two young detectives who refuse to stop until the truth is exposed.
