Avoid Following Moods by Lyman V. Bollinger

Your emotions are real—but they do not have to make every decision for you.

A difficult mood can change the way you see almost everything. Anxiety can make uncertainty feel dangerous. Anger can make immediate action seem necessary. Discouragement can make meaningful goals feel pointless. Loneliness can lower your standards, while exhaustion can turn temporary struggles into permanent conclusions.

Avoid Following Moods offers a practical approach to experiencing emotions without automatically allowing them to determine your choices.

Through thoughtful guidance and relatable everyday situations, this book explores how to recognize when emotions are influencing your judgment, separate facts from emotional stories, and create enough space between a feeling and an action to choose more deliberately. You will learn how to return to your values when motivation disappears, handle difficult decisions during stressful moments, maintain reasonable commitments, communicate more steadily with others, and recover from hard days without carrying them into tomorrow.

This is not about suppressing emotions, ignoring intuition, or forcing yourself to stay positive. It is about listening to what your feelings may be telling you while remembering that feelings are only one source of information.

If you want to respond to difficult emotions with greater perspective, consistency, and self-trust, Avoid Following Moods can help you build a steadier way of making choices—even when the day itself does not feel steady.
