Stroke of Bad Luck by Jace Wilder

He’s the bad boy of professional golf on the verge of losing it all. I’m the retired legend hired to save his career. Falling for him is a penalty I can’t afford. Mads Rook has the best swing on tour and the worst judgment. At twenty-four, he’s a reckless, volatile prodigy whose viral tournament meltdowns are about to cost him his primary sponsor and his tour card. He plays like a man trying to punish himself, and behind his cocky grin is a family secret that’s slowly destroying him from the inside out. I know exactly what it costs to live in the spotlight. I spent my career as the number one player in the world, hiding who I was until a tabloid divorce and a catastrophic wrist injury forced me into early retirement. Now, I’m a performance coach who builds protocols, manages damage, and keeps my thermostat at exactly sixty-four degrees. I live a quiet, structured, impenetrable life. Then I'm hired to fix Madsen Rook. The contract is simple: full authority over his training, mandatory recovery protocols, and complete professional boundaries. But Mads doesn't do boundaries. He’s impulsive, devastatingly beautiful, and hungry for the kind of approval he’s never received. When the walls between us start to crack, the heat underneath threatens to burn down everything I’ve rebuilt. I'm supposed to be fixing his swing. I'm not supposed to be wrapping his bleeding hands in the dark, pressing him against hotel room walls, or discovering what he sounds like when I finally let him surrender control. When the tour launches an integrity investigation that could ruin him, we have an impossible choice: hide in the shadows to protect our careers, or step into the daylight and risk it all. Stroke of Bad Luck is a high-heat, age-gap MM sports romance featuring a grumpy/stoic coach, a sunshine/reckless athlete, praise kink, forced proximity, and a hard-earned Happily Ever After.
