Easy Summary- The Fox Beneath the School
Willowbrook School pupils Hana Park and Leo Martinez are best friends. Behind their soccer pitch is an old storage building. Most kids avoid it since it's ancient and dangerous. Leo kicks his soccer ball behind the building one afternoon. He and Hana find something fantastic while getting it.
Three fox kits live under the building with their mother.
Leo and Hana call mother Ember. Three kits are Rocket, Poppy, and Shadow. Children hide the foxes at first for fear adults will take them. Instead of feeding or touching the family, they watch from afar.
Then they see a sign announcing the old structure will be demolished. Leo and Hana worry. They finally notify Ms. Alvarez, their science teacher, who contacts Dr. Chen from Greenway Wildlife Rescue. Construction is delayed to protect foxes.
Rocket wanders into school during a storm. He runs about the cafeteria and halls causing mischief. Everyone stays calm instead of chasing him. A peaceful corridor and door were created by Dr. Chen. Rocket ventures outside alone.
Later, Ember takes her family to a safer lair near woods. The old building can be securely removed. Willowbrook School creates a wildlife garden with natural flowers, bushes, a rain garden, and safe areas for birds, insects, frogs, and other species after the expedition.
Leo and Hana learn something crucial. Wildlife aid does not involve feeding or manipulating animals. Helping may involve watching from afar, consulting experts, safeguarding habitats, and allowing wild animals to roam.
The foxes started as a secret behind an old building, but their story taught the school that humans and animals share a planet and can defend it.
