The Last House on Halloween by Gideon Vey

Some houses are haunted. This one was never supposed to exist.

Audra Kessell returns to the neighborhood where she grew up for a quiet night of trick-or-treating with her sons. But when young Owen insists they visit one final house, Audra recognizes it immediately—the porch, the windows, and the door she walked through on Halloween when she was eight.

That was the night her best friend, Lenora "Nori" Pike, disappeared.

There is only one impossible problem: property records show the house was demolished before Audra was born.

As the neighborhood twists around them and forgotten children begin appearing behind locked doors, Audra realizes the house has not merely returned. It remembers her. It has preserved the ending she escaped—and this Halloween, it intends to finish the story.

To save Owen and Callum, Audra must uncover what happened to Nori, confront the memories she buried, and learn why some houses vanish only after they have taken what they came for.

The Last House on Halloween is an atmospheric supernatural horror mystery about childhood guilt, missing children, impossible rooms, and a house that waits for families to forget. It is Book One of The Houses Halloween Forgot.
