The Ink That Learned My Name by Matthew Petchinsky

Darian Voss has spent his life chasing the impossible dream of writing a novel the world cannot put down. Then his newest manuscript writes back.

After falling asleep at his secluded Blackridge estate, Darian awakens to discover a sentence written across his final page in warm, living crimson ink. It knows his name. It also claims he has finally written the door correctly.

The substance is Dryackmine-an extradimensional material connected to the Veyrathi, ancient beings existing beyond ordinary reality. When Darian's novel becomes an overnight phenomenon, readers experience overwhelming euphoria, compulsive rereading, shared dreams of a crimson ocean, and glimpses of enormous creatures lurking behind mirrors and darkened windows.

At the center of the mystery stands Thaevor, a towering Veyrathi whose impossible appearance changes depending upon where the observer stands. He does not threaten Darian. He congratulates him.

Every contaminated book is a microscopic door, and Darian has become extraordinarily good at distributing them.

As sales cross one million copies and unimaginable wealth pours into Voss House Publishing, Darian faces a horrifying truth: he finally achieved everything he ever wanted.

Now the question isn't whether he will close the doors.

It's how many more he can open.
