The Neighborhood Christmas War by Mack Hollister

The Neighborhood Christmas War

A Mack Hollister Comedy Novel

Frank Delaney wants one thing for Christmas.

Peace and quiet.

Apparently, that was too much to ask.

What begins as a friendly holiday decorating competition between two neighboring streets quickly turns into an all-out Christmas arms race.

One street adds more lights.

The other adds bigger inflatables.

Then come synchronized music displays, competing carolers, yard signs, charity challenges, social-media bragging rights, suspiciously mobile snowmen, and enough extension cords to make the fire marshal deeply uncomfortable.

Before long, half of Fairfield has chosen a side.

Frank has not.

Unfortunately, that makes him the perfect person to fix it.

Drafted as the neighborhood's reluctant mediator, Frank finds himself attending emergency meetings, reviewing decorating complaints, separating feuding neighbors, negotiating temporary ceasefires, and repeatedly explaining that Christmas decorations should not require diplomatic intervention.

Carol tries to keep him sane.

Donna brings spreadsheets.

The O'Malley's Board of Directors brings advice.

Naturally, their advice makes everything worse.

Then a winter storm knocks out the neighborhood's power and forces both sides to remember something they somehow lost during the battle to win Christmas:

They're neighbors.

Now Frank has one final mission — convince two stubborn streets to stop competing long enough to create something together before Christmas Eve.

Preferably without anyone setting an inflatable Santa on fire.

The Neighborhood Christmas War is a warm, laugh-out-loud holiday comedy about retirement, marriage, neighbors, competition, friendship, Christmas chaos, and one man's heroic attempt to prove that peace on Earth might still be possible — even when the house across the street has twenty thousand more lights.

Perfect for readers who enjoy older protagonists, marriage humor, quirky neighbors, small-town comedy, Christmas stories, holiday disasters, and feel-good fiction with plenty of heart behind the laughs.
