Wolf-Man of the Smoke River by Rex Slade

Something is hunting along the Smoke River…

Riders are vanishing. Ranch hands are found torn to pieces. Horses come back wild-eyed from the desert with saddles ripped and reins trailing.

Some folks swear it's a wolf.

Others say it walks like a man.

When seasoned gunfighter Clay Ransom rides into the Smoke River country, he finds a valley gripped by fear and silence. Ranchers lock their doors before dark, and no one dares ride the trails at night.

But Ransom has faced killers, outlaws, and worse.

And whatever stalks the desert shadows is about to learn that some men don't scare easy.

Because under the moonlit sky of the Smoke River, a final showdown is coming…

Between a hard frontier gunman—
and a creature born of teeth, claws, and nightmare.

In the West, a man fears many things…
but nothing like the Wolf-Man of the Smoke River.
