SUN Bucks 2027 for Parents by Claire W. Bennett

Summer should mean more time with family—not more uncertainty about how to keep groceries on the table. **SUN Bucks 2027 for Parents** is a practical, plain-English guide for parents, guardians, and caregivers who want to understand SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, before the 2027 summer benefit season. If you are wondering whether your child may receive benefits automatically, whether your family needs to apply, how eligibility works, where an EBT card may be sent, or what to do when expected benefits do not arrive, this guide walks you through the process in clear, manageable steps. Inside, you’ll learn: • What SUN Bucks and Summer EBT are and how the program works • How automatic enrollment may work for eligible children • When a parent or caregiver may need to submit an application • How participation in SNAP, TANF, FDPIR, school meal programs, and other qualifying programs may affect enrollment • What information families may need when completing an application • How benefits may be delivered through an existing EBT account or another benefit card • Why keeping your mailing address and household information current matters • What to do if a card is lost, delayed, damaged, or never arrives • How to respond to eligibility notices or unexpected benefit problems • How benefit expiration rules can affect families who wait too long to use their funds • Why rules, dates, application procedures, and administration may differ by state, Tribe, or territory • How to contact schools and benefit agencies more effectively • What questions to ask when you are unsure what your next step should be The book includes realistic family examples, troubleshooting guidance, planning worksheets, document checklists, phone scripts, and a practical verification checklist designed to help parents prepare before the summer rush begins. **A guide built around the questions parents actually ask** Will my child get SUN Bucks automatically? Do I need to apply for Summer EBT? What if my child receives free or reduced-price school meals? What happens if we recently moved? Where will the benefit card be mailed? What if another child in my household received benefits but one did not? How long do I have to use the benefits? Where should I check for official 2027 information? Rather than overwhelming readers with government terminology, **SUN Bucks 2027 for Parents** turns the program into practical decisions families can understand and act on. **Important 2027 note:** This is an early-planning edition based on information available before the full 2027 summer benefit season. Benefit amounts, participating jurisdictions, application periods, issuance schedules, and local procedures may change.
