Asking Price (Chasing Forever Homes in Dublin)

A government reform meant to protect tenants does the opposite: every small landlord in Dublin reads the new law and reaches for an envelope. Pavel and Maeve’s arrives on a Thursday — a notice of termination, 224 days to find somewhere else. They decide to buy.

Follow Pavel and Maeve through every viewing and every scheme on their quest to buy their forever home, into the Dublin property market, and the absolute state of it.

The book also boasts four practical interludes, nestled between the chapters and finished to an exceptional standard: approval in principle, and what it approves of in principle; the bidding war, for which history's greatest military theorists will prepare you to fight in the fog of war; the soliciting of a conveyancing solicitor, enquiries ongoing; and a full field taxonomy of the Dublin estate agent, classified by plumage, call, and habitat.

Viewing highly recommended. No chain.
