'Firebrand' Trevison by Charles Alden Seltzer

First published in 1918, 'Firebrand' Trevison is Charles Alden Seltzer's fast-moving tale of the open range at the moment the frontier begins to close. Trevison is a big-hearted, quick-tempered cowboy whose loyalty to his friends and his range is matched only by his devotion to Ruth Harkness, an Eastern-bred woman learning the West for herself. When a smooth-talking schemer sets out to strip the cattlemen of their land through fraud and intimidation, Trevison answers with grit, straight talk, and a six-gun — and discovers that justice on the frontier demands more than a fast draw. This edition presents the complete, unabridged original text, faithfully reproduced, together with a new introduction and reader's notes that place the novel in the context of Seltzer's career and the golden age of Western fiction. Warm, vigorous, and full of action, it remains a satisfying adventure for longtime fans and newcomers alike. Part of The Founding Texts Library.
