THE WINGS OF TIME by Udo Azogu
What is time—and why was it given to humanity?
We measure time by seconds, days, and years, yet time itself remains one of the deepest mysteries of existence. Does time exist independently, or did it begin with creation? What lies beyond time? And if human life is temporary, what is its ultimate purpose?
The Wings of Time: A Journey Through Eternity, Purpose, and Divine Movement explores these questions through a theological, philosophical, and reflective examination of time, creation, human existence, destiny, redemption, and eternity.
Beginning with the nature of time, this book considers time not as an object but as a movement through which creation unfolds. It explores the profound possibility that time itself had a beginning and that, because it belongs to creation, it is not the ultimate reality.
The journey then moves beyond the familiar boundaries of chronological existence. What does it mean to speak of a reality “before” time? Can eternity be understood simply as endless duration, or is eternity something fundamentally different from time itself? Drawing upon Scripture and the Qur’an, the book examines the relationship between the eternal God and the temporal world, and the ways divine purpose intersects with human history.
As the journey unfolds, time is considered as more than something that passes. It becomes the arena in which human beings make decisions, develop character, experience suffering, encounter revelation, pursue redemption, and move toward their ultimate destiny.
The book examines the burden of memory, the illusion of human control, the significance of seasons and divine order, and the mystery of suffering. It asks how the voice of God can be recognized within the many voices of time and how eternal truth can enter human experience.
At the heart of the journey is a distinction between time and eternity. Time is presented as sequential, changing, and developmental; eternity as a reality beyond temporal succession. From this perspective, human life takes on a deeper significance: what happens within time may have consequences that extend beyond it.
The final chapters consider the end of time and what lies beyond it. If time is a temporary stage of existence, then life within time is not merely about how long one lives, but about what one becomes while being carried forward.
Time prepares; eternity reveals.
The Wings of Time invites the reader to see every moment differently—to recognize that time is moving, life is unfolding, and every decision contributes to an outcome. The question is therefore not simply how much time we have, but what we are becoming within the time we have been given.
This is a journey from the beginning of time toward eternity—and an invitation to discover the divine purpose hidden within the movement between them.
