AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional - (DOP-C02) (The Decision-Making Method) by Miguel Brito

The Decision-Making Method
A Complete Skills-Mapped Study Guide for the AWS DOP-C02 Exam
Passing the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional exam is not about memorizing services.

It is about making the right operational decision under pressure.

The DOP-C02 exam tests whether you can evaluate deployment strategies, automation patterns, monitoring architectures, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, and resilience requirements — then eliminate technically plausible but operationally wrong answers.

This guide was built around one principle:

Professional-level AWS exams reward decision-making, not memorization.

Instead of long service catalogs and disconnected summaries, this book teaches the reasoning process behind DevOps architecture choices on AWS.

You will learn how to answer questions such as:

When should you choose Blue/Green vs Canary deployments?
Which monitoring strategy reduces MTTR most effectively?
When does EventBridge outperform SNS or SQS?
Which CI/CD pattern best satisfies rollback and compliance constraints?
How do you design resilient, observable systems at scale?
Which automation approach minimizes operational overhead?
Every chapter focuses on a specific decision problem.

Every table encodes an elimination rule.

Every review question trains exam-level reasoning.

Inside this guide:
✔ Constraint-first reasoning framework for Professional-level exams

✔ Decision tables designed for faster elimination of wrong answers

✔ CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, reliability and security patterns

✔ Deployment strategy comparisons

✔ Monitoring and incident response frameworks

✔ DevOps automation architectures on AWS

✔ Operational excellence and resilience concepts

✔ Scenario-based review questions

✔ Exam tips highlighting common traps and confusion pairs

✔ Skills-mapped coverage aligned to AWS exam objectives

✔ Full-length practice exam with explanations

✔ Final review sections for last-week preparation

This book is ideal for:
AWS practitioners preparing for their first DOP-C02 attempt
Solutions Architects moving into DevOps engineering
Engineers with AWS experience who struggle with Professional-level scenarios
Candidates who failed once and want a more structured approach
Professionals seeking to improve operational decision-making on AWS

What makes this guide different?
Most certification books explain services.

This guide explains why one answer is correct and why the others fail.

Because the difference between failing and passing a Professional AWS exam is often not knowledge.

It is elimination speed.

It is recognizing constraints.

It is choosing the architecture that violates the fewest requirements.

That skill can be trained.

This book is designed to train it.

Learn AWS. Think like an Architect. Deliver like a DevOps Engineer.
