Saying It Out Loud by Jon Land, Amy King

As Seen On Fox 5 DC

A young widow’s triumph over tragedy.

Amy King had a sinking feeling as she reached for her ringing phone one November morning. With a single sentence, loss split her life into a before and after.

“Mrs. King, your husband’s been in an accident.”

There was before—raising a family and working in agriculture with her high school sweetheart—and after. At the age of twenty-seven, Amy was left a widow with a one-year-old-daughter to raise. Suddenly, the life she planned to share was reduced to grieving what was left behind.

Miraculously, what followed was a journey of triumph over tragedy, and dedication over despair. With the help of friends, family, and faith, Amy lifted herself from the depths of hopelessness to forge a new life while honoring her first love who helped her build the old one.

In Saying It Out Loud, Amy unflinchingly bares her soul in excruciating, heart-wrenching detail as she fights depression and struggles to protect her toddler from the fallout of loss. One year after the accident that claimed her husband’s life, she finds a strength she never knew she had as sorrow gives way to recovery and hope, leaving Amy to realize that grief and joy can coexist.

Saying It Out Loud is a true story of resilience, renewal, and reconciliation for those who have found a new identity in the aftermath of tragedy and those who are still searching for it.
