Changeling, and Other Stories by Donn Byrne

Here is Donn Byrne at his most enchanting. This edition presents the complete, unabridged original text of Changeling, and Other Stories — every tale exactly as it appeared in the classic first edition — together with a new introduction and reader's notes that set the collection in the context of Byrne's brief, brilliant career and the Irish storytelling tradition that shaped it. Within these pages, ancient belief brushes against modern life: changelings and old songs, sailors and exiles, lovers parted by sea and circumstance, and the pull of a homeland remembered across an ocean. Written with the lyrical warmth that made Byrne one of the most admired voices of the 1920s, these stories reward both first-time readers and returning friends. Whether you come for the folklore, the romance, or the prose itself, you will find a book to linger over. Part of The Founding Texts Library.
