Death of a Pilgrim by A. D. Thorne

A body at his doorstep. A past he can't outrun. And a secret that could bury him for good.

Retired detective Richard Harris thought he'd finally found peace in the lush Galician countryside. Trading a badge for an art gallery on the Camino de Santiago, he hoped to leave the shadows of his former life—and the unsolved death of his wife—behind him.
But when a body is discovered right outside his gallery, the message is clear: the past has found him.

The investigation catapults Richard from the tranquil hills of Northern Spain into the murky depths of British politics and a web of police corruption he thought he'd escaped. With the clock ticking and the Guardia Civil closing in, Richard must decide how much he's willing to sacrifice to finally learn the truth about his wife's killer.

Will Richard restore justice to the Camino, or will a second death ensure the truth stays buried forever?
