Bound to the Savage Wolf by Elena Marlowe

She was sent to calm the savage wolf. She never expected to be the one thing keeping him alive. When Lady Saoirse Vael is handed over to Warlord Aldric Duskfang as a political hostage, she walks through his fortress gates knowing exactly what she is — a bargaining piece dressed up in diplomatic language. She has been managed, maneuvered, and deployed her entire life. She knows how to survive it. What she doesn't know is that the blood-mark sleeping in her veins has just woken up, that the dark alpha werewolf ruling these mountain territories is dying from the inside out, and that she is the only thing standing between him and an ancient curse that will consume him completely. Aldric Duskfang has held his clan together through plague, betrayal, and three years of the Fang's Grief — a hereditary curse that occurs when an alpha loses his fated mate before their bond is sealed. The wolf is slowly overtaking the man, and he has perhaps weeks left before his own clan will have no choice but to put him down. He does not need a lowland hostage. He does not need another complication. He does not need a sharp-tongued, impossibly composed diplomat who reads rooms the way other people read maps, and whose presence makes the wolf, for the first time in three years, go completely still. But an enemy clan is circling. An informant is feeding intelligence to his rivals. And the woman he was supposed to ignore keeps proving, in every crisis that follows, that she is not a hostage at all. She is something far more dangerous. She is the only person in this fortress who sees him clearly and has not looked away.
