that progress often begins with simple acts of togetherness."

Beautiful Faces 1971 is a powerful photographic journey into a little-known yet historic moment-the first interracial overnight summer camp in the American South. At a time when children's lives were largely divided along racial lines, this groundbreaking week at Camp Blue Star in Hendersonville, North Carolina, created a new reality: one where Black and white children played, laughed, and connected freely.

Set against the serene beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this extraordinary gathering drew national attention, even welcoming Coretta Scott King and her children. Through a remarkable collection of never-before-seen photographs, the book captures a fleeting but transformative moment of unity, innocence, and hope.

For many, it was more than just a camp-it was an awakening. A glimpse of what the world could be. A true "Summer of Love."
