Resilient by Nature by Alayna Bellquist

It began with a bite-the one Alayna Bellquist had lived in fear of since hearing a relative describe the ravages of chronic Lyme.

As the illness stripped away everything she held dear, Alayna was forced to grapple with confronting questions:
How had her high-achieving, perfectionist focus on outward success compromised her inner resilience? Which traumas and emotional wounds needed attention first, in order to then heal her physical self? Could healing ourselves also heal the natural world around us?
Resilient by Nature charts Alayna's path to the answers and illuminates a new approach to chronic Lyme-one supported by science and rooted in excavating the traumas and maladaptive coping mechanisms that increase vulnerability and hinder recovery. Woven throughout is a vital message: only by repairing our relationship with nature will we ever fully heal ourselves and Earth.
