The King Announced by Heaven by Daniel Wire

Before the angels sang, before the shepherds watched their flocks, before a star rose over Bethlehem, Heaven had already announced the King.

The King Announced by Heaven traces the story behind the story-how God prepared the world for the arrival of His Son through prophecy and the unfolding drama of redemption. This is not a retelling of the Christmas narrative; it is the deeper narrative beneath it, the one written long before the manger.

Drawing from Scripture, ancient Near Eastern context, and the theological patterns woven through the Old Testament, Daniel Wire explores the promises and historic practices that inspired the Magi to travel to a distant land in search of a king. He examines how a celestial event in the east could point the Magi toward Judah, the ancient astronomical practices that shaped their expectations, and why a rare pattern in the heavens would have carried royal significance. He also shows how Matthew's Gospel frames the Magi within his larger narrative and reveals the theological meaning of a King announced by heaven.

This book invites readers to see the Magi not as seasonal figures but as participants in a real historical moment. It explains how a rare celestial pattern could signal the arrival of a promised King and how Matthew uses the Magi's appearance to frame the opening of his Gospel. It offers a clear, text‑honoring way to understand one of Scripture's most intriguing events. It is written for anyone who wonders how a star could act as a beacon to the Christ child, for believers who appreciate historical depth grounded in the ancient natural sciences, for those who want to see the birth of Christ beyond seasonal traditions, and for pastors and teachers seeking plausible, text‑honoring explanations for the star that inspired the Magi.

What makes this book unique is its reliance on ancient astronomical understanding rather than modern reconstruction. It situates the Magi within real historical practices and cultural patterns and provides a historically plausible explanation for the star without sensationalism. It presents a proposed solution to the sign that inspired the Magi-one no other book addresses.
