Lightborn: Dawn of Darkness by Daniel Maritz, Hernu Maritz

An epic tale of adventure where ancient history and myth intertwine—where the war between the sons of Light and the lords of shadow rages beneath the surface, shaping the destiny of humanity.

Long ago, after the rise of a deep darkness, the world was ancient, untamed, and filled with wonders long forgotten. The descendants of Adam carved out a fragile existence amid the roar of the Behemoth and the terror of the Leviathan. Mankind spread into scattered tribes, forging cities such as Nippur and Eridu, as the shadow of the anunnaki breached the divide and their corruption seeped into the land.

In this primordial land of light and shadow, one man born a slave is suddenly liberated by mysterious warriors of Light and thrust onto a journey that thunders into eternity. As Uldako seeks to uncover the deeper truths about his world, his heritage, and the war behind all wars, he walks a path of survival, pursued by beasts, scorched by loss, and drawn toward an ancient prophecy of the Lightborn.
