Handle Your Purpose by Jonathan Matei

Much of what you call thinking is often just remembering yesterday or worrying about tomorrow, but God's purpose is found when you are intentional with your thoughts today. This happens every day through small choices. The thoughts you decide to follow determine the direction of your life.

Learning to step back from unhelpful thoughts, a simple practice of cognitive defusion, helps you recognize what is true and becomes the foundation for handling your purpose with confidence.

A season of working as a delivery driver helped the author practically understand this. Handling valuable, time-sensitive packages in a crowded truck taught Jonathan to slow down, focus on one box at a time, and notice details that were easy to overlook. Each package had a purpose and needed to be handled with care. The same is true for the package you now hold in your hand, ready to be unboxed as you live your life with clear intention.
