Devour by J.P. Charles

On the mysterious island of Lancloster, isolation is survival. The soil is sacred, the rules are ancient, and the people live and die by the harvest. But as the crops wither and famine spreads like a curse, one curious and underestimated boy dares to question the foundation of everything he's been taught.

Bob Brookfield has always been the weak link in a family of strongmen—scrawny, curious, and obsessed with the world beneath his feet. When his forbidden explorations uncover strange soil patterns and dead crops, he becomes the first to sense that something is deeply, terrifyingly wrong.

But famine isn't the only threat growing on the island.

As hunger consumes the people of Lancloster, a darker appetite begins to surface—one that turns neighbor against neighbor, and family into monsters. When Bob witnesses an unspeakable act that shatters his innocence and tears open the truth, he's forced into a harrowing fight for survival against forces he never imagined.

Devour is a chilling tale of tradition, betrayal, and the unspeakable cost of survival. Gritty, emotional, and unforgettable, this novel will grip you from the first sentence and haunt you long after the final page.
