SEAN by Damore’Ea Stringfellow

Nineteen-year-old Sean Howard has one rule for surviving Los Angeles: mind your business.

Between rideshare passengers, delivery apps, his reckless friends West and Chris, a dangerous apartment complex, and his complete inability to talk normally around Naomi, Sean has enough problems of his own. Then a Bible, some missing rolling papers, and one very questionable decision turn his ordinary life upside down.

Suddenly, the city around him begins to resemble the stories of Scripture. Traffic becomes a modern-day Red Sea. Giants appear in unexpected places. Lions take human form. Fire tests his courage. And through it all, Sean begins to realize that maybe the miracles aren't the point.

When two young boys in his building desperately need someone to stop looking the other way, Sean must decide whether faith is something he merely sees—or something he is willing to live.

SEAN: A Biblical Dark Comedy is a funny, heartfelt coming-of-age story about fear, faith, responsibility, and discovering that courage doesn't mean you're no longer afraid. Sometimes it simply means you stop running.
