GIRLS OF BLACKTHORN HOUSE by LINDA WREN

Seventeen-year-old Mara Vale returns to the rain-soaked town of Bellweather after her grandmother's death, inheriting a failing bookshop—and a strange gift that lets her hear emotional echoes hidden inside written words and objects.

Then she meets Rowan, Ivy, and Nell.

Each girl carries magic of her own. Together, they become the Fourth Flame, a coven determined to uncover the truth behind Blackthorn House, where seven teenage witches have vanished in a cycle stretching across generations.

But Blackthorn is more than haunted.

The old house remembers. It wants. And the protection spell buried inside its walls has become something far more dangerous.

Then there is Silas Wren.

Descended from Wardens sworn to contain dangerous magic, Silas should be the last person Mara trusts. Yet suspicion slowly turns into something neither of them can ignore—a forbidden attraction caught between family secrets, old betrayals, and a curse that is growing stronger.

As Halloween approaches and the thirteen-year cycle begins again, Mara must uncover what Blackthorn truly wants before the house chooses its next girl.

A gothic YA fantasy romance filled with witchcraft, coven friendship, forbidden love, dangerous magic, buried secrets, and a house that never forgets.
