The Ghostly Guardian by Sabine Blackwood

What if the only friend who truly understood you had been dead for more than a century?

Lucy is tired of being the new kid.

Another move has brought her family to an enormous old Victorian house filled with dusty rooms, forgotten belongings, and enough creaking floorboards to make anyone wonder what might still be wandering its halls.

Then Lucy hears a giggle.

Footsteps cross empty rooms. Her mattress sinks beneath an invisible weight. A rocking chair moves on its own. And eventually, the mysterious presence whispers a name.

Emily.

Instead of running from the ghost, Lucy does something unexpected.

She becomes her friend.

But Emily remembers almost nothing about the life she lost or why she remains trapped inside the house. Determined to help her, Lucy begins searching through old journals, photographs, town records, and forgotten family belongings. What she discovers points to a century-old tragedy, a hidden grave, and a mysterious figure named William who seems determined to keep the past buried.

And William may still be watching.

As Emily's memories slowly return, Lucy realizes that some secrets have survived far longer than the people who created them. To uncover the truth, she will have to confront whatever has been hiding in the shadows of the house before it silences Emily's story forever.

Some guardians never stop watching.

The Ghostly Guardian is an eerie supernatural mystery about friendship, forgotten secrets, restless spirits, and the courage to uncover the truth. Part of The Haunted Chronicles, this standalone adventure can be read in any order.
