Ginevra by Susan E. Wallace

Susan E. Wallace's Christmas romance opens in a medieval castle where danger, devotion, and festivity live side by side. Ginevra, the baron's cherished daughter, grows up sheltered by her stern but loving father, guided by the loyal soldier Ban, and shaped by piety, simplicity, and stories of the Holy Family. In sunlit chambers, rose gardens, and secret passages, she seems almost angelic—until a foretelling of grief casts a shadow over her fate. Then comes Lord Lovel, the young nobleman secretly promised to her, and their meeting blossoms into a fairy-tale love amid music, pearls, feasting, and Christmas revelry. Yet compassion, jealousy, and destiny deepen the tale. Ginevra honors a shabby minstrel who proves to be Prince Edward, while her own wedding day ends in terror when she vanishes during a playful hide-and-seek game. Desperate searches through the castle bring only silence, sorrow, and ruin. Years later, the truth is discovered in a hidden chest: Ginevra's innocent hiding place became her tomb, turning a joyful celebration into a haunting tragedy of love, loss, and cruel fate.
