Bellwether

Bellwether is an atmospheric supernatural mystery about memory, identity and a place that should not exist.

Ruth arrives in North Yorkshire carrying a violin case, a handful of old letters and questions her mother never answered. What begins as an attempt to trace a vanished place becomes something stranger when maps disagree, roads lead where they should not, and the name Bellwether begins appearing in records that seem determined to assign people to lives they did not choose.

With Elias beside her and old family secrets closing in, Ruth must decide how much of the past can be trusted, what it means to refuse a story written for you, and whether leaving Bellwether is the same thing as escaping it.

Bellwether is a complete standalone novel from The Other Places, blending mystery, Gothic atmosphere, uncanny suspense and grounded emotional consequence.
